I finally took some time to update my résumé…and it was a humbling reminder that résumés evolve just like technology does.
Between learning how modern Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) actually parse content and realizing how much formatting and wording matter now, it’s clear that a résumé today is less about looking “impressive” and more about being clear, relevant, and searchable.
It made me step back and think: if we continuously invest in keeping our skills current, we should do the same with how we tell our story. Experience doesn’t change…but how it’s communicated absolutely does.
Whether you’re actively looking or perfectly happy where you are, it’s worth revisiting your résumé every so often. Not because you’re planning to leave, but because staying current is part of staying prepared.
